SVG und die »gefühlte« Teuerungsrate

Mal wieder ein wunderschönes Beispiel, was mit SVG alles möglich ist: Das Statistische Bundesamt hat eine neue SVG Anwendung ins Netz gestellt: Einen Indexrechner, mit dem man seinen persönlichen Preisindex errechnen und visualisieren kann. Natürlich wird das Adobe SVG-PlugIn benötigt, aber die Seite ist schon toll gemacht. [Michael N. per Email.]

Es passiert doch noch etwas mit SVG

Opera bringt SVG aufs Handy. Opera will seinen Browser für mobile Endgeräte um Unterstützung für Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) erweitern. Dazu greifen die Norweger auf den SVG-Player von Ikivo zurück, der künftig mit dem Browser ausgeliefert werden soll, um entsprechende Vektor-Grafiken auf Smartphones und Handys mit Opera anzeigen zu können. Geo-Datenbank der Vereinten Nationen

Für meine GIS-Experimente vielleicht einmal nützlich: UNEP-GEO Data Portal: »Its online database holds more than 450 different variables, as national, subregional, regional and global statistics or as geospatial data sets (maps), covering themes like Freshwater, Population, Forests, Emissions, Climate, Disasters, Health and GDP.
