Google Maps und PHP

Ich hatte schon lange keinen PHP-Link mehr: Phoogle Maps ist eine PHP-Klasse, mit deren Hilfe man in fünf Codezeilen eine selbstdefinierte Google Map auf seiner Site unterbringen kann.

Sollte ich mir einmal anschauen. Und sei es nur, um etwas ähnliches für Frontier zu programmieren. [Die ContentSchmiede]

Was sind Mapplets?

Google Maps mit Karten-Mash-ups: Google Maps ging gestern mit »Mapplets« online. User können themenspezifische Mini-Karten selbst erstellen und auf ihren eigenen Websites platzieren. [futurezone.ORF.at]

Der Dienst scheint vorerst nur in den USA bereitzustehen. Auf »meinen Karten« habe ich ihn jedenfalls heute früh noch nicht entdeckt.

Karten auf dem Armaturenbrett

gMap ist ein kleines Widget, das die Karten von Google Maps auf dem Dashboard anzeigt. Die Adreßsuche funktioniert auch in Deutschland:

Routen ändern via »Drag and Drop«

Google Maps Are Now Draggable: »Google has just given the functionality of their online Maps product a real boost. You can now drag a route on a map to change the streets it takes. They've also added the ability to add a destination anywhere on a map just by right-clicking or by dragging an existing place marker to a new location. [O'Reilly Radar]

Damit kann man nun Umwege oder Stau- und Baustellen-Umfahrungen in seine Google-Routen einbauen. BTW: Weiß jemand, ob und wie man Googles Routenplaner via (JavaScript-/AJAX-) API ansprechen kann? Ich habe trotz intensiven Suchens nichts entsprechendes gefunden.
